Clearing Space

This image of red rock formations tells a quiet truth about clearing space.

These rocks were not shaped by force, but by time.
By water moving patiently through small openings.
By wind returning again and again.
By light finding its way through even the narrowest cracks.

What appears solid and unchanging has been gently carved—
not in a single moment, but over thousands of years.

In the spaces created by water and wind, light now enters.
Sunlight spills through the openings, illuminating what was once hidden,
revealing both shadow and brilliance, side by side.

Clearing space within ourselves often happens the same way.
Not through effort or urgency, but through small, consistent openings.
A pause.
A breath.
A moment of rest.

We don’t need to tear anything down.
Sometimes all that’s required is a small crack—
an opening wide enough for light to enter.

Yoga Nidra invites this kind of gentle transformation.
As the body rests and the nervous system softens, space is created naturally.
Old patterns loosen.
Held places soften.
Light reaches areas that have long been in shadow.

Just as these stones were shaped by water, wind, and time,
we too are shaped by what we allow to move through us—
breath, awareness, rest, and compassion.

Clearing space doesn’t mean erasing the darkness.
It means allowing light to meet it.

And often, a single opening is enough to begin.
